## Dan Stefanica’s “A Primer for the Mathematics of Financial Engineering”

Posted by alifinmath on April 14, 2008

Just got an email message that Dan Stefanica’s book is out in print. This is the webpage for the book. I’ve looked at the table of contents and some of the sample sections. It appears to be lucidly written and tightly organised. It’s used by Stefanica as an advanced calc refresher course for incoming MFE students at Baruch but includes a fair bit of elementary math finance. Other than its lucidity and tight organisation, the book appears to have meshed math and finance smoothly for MFE students. This is an intro book and only 304 pages. The material can be found in umpteen other books but I’m always attracted to clearly-written treatments that present the necessary material and nothing but. Consequently I’ve ordered a copy from Amazon. If I revise my original impressions, I’ll write another post.
