Frontier funds

Posted by alifinmath on March 1, 2008

I was reading a piece on “frontier funds” in the FT, which are high-risk funds in pre-emerging areas where risk simply can’t be quantified (well, it can’t be quantified anyway, but financial engineering courses encourage the hubris that it can). The piece mentions the “Babylon Fund”; I did a search and found the site. I’m intrigued and may possibly park a bit of my own hard-won savings with them. These “pre-emerging areas” often pay off big-time, and I’m also intrigued by the fund managers, who don’t fall into the usual mold.
