Apologies to all and sundry for the lengthy hiatus: I’ve been busy with this, that, and the other. Anyway, I’m now in Oslo, Norway, casting a bemused eye over what’s happening in the US of A. I was browsing (as is my wont) in the Tanum bookstore yesterday on Karl Johans Gate in Central Oslo, when I stumbled across Barbara Ehrenreich’s new book, “This Land Is Their Land.” Somewhere in the book, she gives the web address of a blog by and for temp attorneys: http://temporaryattorney.blogspot.com. It makes for grisly reading and is a stark reminder that few (if any) professions are immune from the travails of the American workforce at large.
